Amagasa (Umbrella) Wagasa for a rainy day. The "Yomeiri" series is a reprint of the design of a traditional Wagasa made in Gifu during the Showa period (1926-1989).It is made entirely of 100% Kozo Washi (washi paper made with mulberry) and beautiful patterns are drawn on the white Washi paper using sumi ink. In the process of reprinting the original, we were amazed at the high level of skill of the craftsmen of the time, and learned a lot from them and we put our own twist on it.In order to make it stronger than the original, the type and thickness of the washi paper, the strength of the umbrella bones, and the staggered wrapping have been changed. The top of the bone is made of genuine lacquer. The inside of the umbrella is staggered with bright threads for both reinforcement and design which is called “Chodori-gake”, and you can enjoy its beauty when you use it. Handle is made with wood・Two metal Hajiki (a wooden or metal clasp attached to the middle of the handle)・Rattan grip・WaterproofPhotographed at Shirasagiyu Tawaraya Onsen
